The Decolonial Dialogues research collective, working in collaboration with the University of London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) and The London Arts and Humanities Partnership (LAHP), are pleased to be co-hosting the inaugural UK screening of the award-winning documentary film “Je Suis Noires: Becoming a Black Woman” – taking place at RCSSD’s Embassy Theatre, London, on 12 January 2024 (6.30-9pm).
This FREE event features a c.50-minute screening of “Je Suis Noires,” followed by an in-person conversation and Q&A session with the film’s writer and co-director Rachel M’Bon.
During the post-screening discussion Rachel will share personal reflections and insights about the film-making process, and also contextualize the featured piece-to-camera narratives and interviews recorded with six fellow women of colour – each addressing issues of identity, belonging, sense of place, rights activism, matters of health and well-being, self-care and anti-racist agency.
